The kit is supplied with the pcb, 6 x 5mm ultra bright white
LEDs and current limiting resistors. This will provide a
typical output of up to 4,200mcd.
The board has the option to add more LEDs, for greater
intensity.
An additional 11 LEDs (total, 17) will provide a typical
output with wide angled LEDs of 12,000mcd. The module
fully populated, with an additional 18 LEDs (total, 35) gives
a typical output of 24,500mcd.
The circuit simply comprises of a set of series circuits, typically 2 or 3 LEDs plus a current
limiting resistor. Each series circuit is then duplicated, in parallel, to achieve the desired
light intensity.
THE CIRCUIT
The kit is supplied with the pcb, 6 ultra bright wide angled white LEDs and current limiting resistors. This will provide a typical output of up to 4,200mcd and is shown above.
The board has the option to add more LEDs, for greater intensity. Typical output with a fully populated pcb, using wide angled LEDs, 24,500mcd.
Note: Additional LEDs, various colours, and current limiting resistors, are sold separately,
Typical current requirements
6 LEDs (as supplied with the kit): ±40mA.
With additional 11 LEDs, total 17 LEDs: ±120mA ( extra not supplied with kit)
Fully populated, with a total of 35 LEDs: ±250mA
(9v not included)
