Silicone Thermal Paste (APH49G)

Silicone heat transfer compound (also called thermal paste / heatsink compound) is a thermally conductive, electrically insulating paste used to improve heat flow between electronic components and heatsinks.

 What it is

It’s typically made of:

• Silicone oil base
• Thermally conductive fillers (like zinc oxide or ceramic powder)

This combination allows heat to transfer efficiently while preventing electrical shorts.

 What it does

• Fills microscopic air gaps between surfaces
• Improves heat dissipation
• Prevents overheating of components
• Ensures better contact between:
  • Transistors
  • CPUs
  • Voltage regulators
  • Heatsinks

Without it, air (a poor conductor) traps heat and reduces cooling efficiency.
