Model Railway DCC Carriage Lighting Kit (KIT60S)

This kit is designed to provide LED lighting to an individual passenger carriage. Although intended to be used in 'OO' or 'HO' scale models, the kit may be suitable for use in other scales. The suitability will very much depend of whether the 'main' PCB is able to fit inside the carriage. The width of this PCB is approximately 12mm, whilst the length is 330mm, but will require cutting to suit the length of the chosen carriage.

The kit is wired directly to the existing system's DCC supply, typically 16V. A bridge rectifier sets the polarity and smoothing capacitors remove any ac content that may be present, as would be the case in a DCC system. Although intended for use with DCC wired systems, other dc supplies may be accommodated, see notes included with the kit. This supply is then used to illuminate a series network of miniature, surface mount hi-bright white LED's. (This kit includes 5 LED's, but where a carriage's length is long enough to accommodate two sets of 5 LED's, then a second set of LED's are available separately as Order Code KIT61S.)
