Intelligent Car Obstacle avoidance Module (ARD115E)

What the module does

This sensor detects objects using infrared reflection:

• It emits infrared light
• If something is in front, the light reflects back
• The module detects the reflection and triggers an output

 Detection characteristics

• Detection distance: 2 cm – 30 cm (adjustable)
• Detection angle: ~35°
• Distance depends on:
  • Object color (black = less detection, white = best detection)
  • Size of object
  • Surface reflectivity

 Output behavior (important)

The output is digital (0 or 1):

• 🟢 No object detected → OUT = HIGH (1)
• 🔴 Object detected → OUT = LOW (0)

Also:

• Green LED on board lights when detection occurs
• Red LED shows power status

 Pin connections (3 pins)

You can fine-tune detection distance:

•  Clockwise → increases detection distance
• Counterclockwise → decreases detection distance

 Factory setting is usually already calibrated, so normally no adjustment is needed.

 Electrical notes

• Uses LM393 comparator → stable digital switching
• Works with:
  • 3.3V MCUs (ESP8266/ESP32)
  • 5V MCUs (Arduino Uno, etc.)
• Can directly drive:
  • microcontroller input pins
  • small 5V relay modules (depending on current draw)
